Tips on how to make you stall get noticed & You Make More Money!

What Is Provided On Your Stall at MarketW3

With the gazebo you get:

  • One table and you need to provide your own tablecloths (double bed flat sheet is ideal). If you need further tables, you can hire them for £5 each. The gazebo will be erected for you by the time you arrive (after 8.30 am).
  • Bring some portable deck chairs or similar, as we don’t provide these.
  • Vehicles off the Mount by 9.30. See below for more information on local parking

Unless given express permission, no trader can leave their vehicle on the mount once unloaded. For pack up the vehicle can be driven onto the mount after 4 pm.

If you bring your own shelter or gazebo for your stall, its expected:

  • Stall set up by 9.45 at the latest.
  • Vehicles off the Mount by 9.30. See below for more information on local parking

Legal Obligations

All traders must obtain their Public Liability Insurance before trading at the Market. We recommend:

  • Combined Market Traders Insurance Association at www.cmtia.co.uk – provides an instant insurance cover for all UK based market traders
  • National Market Traders Federation at www.nmtf.co.uk – offers insurance, as well as information and advice for all UK based market traders.

Make a good impression with your Stall

Here are our suggestions for you to produce a great stall. Its best to build your stall that looks and feels right for you and your business. Sometimes this takes time, so here are some ideas to start with. Talking and looking at other stall can give you ideas and also make some new friends when your trading.

Think about making your stall as professional as possible. Presentation is critical for both your stand and the market as a whole. Here is how you can make a good impression.

  • Table covers or cloth: The tables we provide are 2m x 1m. To give a good impression its worth investing in a nice piece of cloth that provides a good background to your products. A double bed flat sheet is one option, or you can buy Stretch Lycra Table Cover or White Table Cloth 2 x 1m
  • Banner: A simple banner displaying your company name, website and contact details. There are many companies that supply banners such as Vistaprint, Recyclable banners or Minute Man Acton
  • Business Cards: Useful to give out to interested shoppers and to those who buy from you. Moo mini cards are cost effective, Vistaprint or Minute Man Acton
  • Business Card or Leaflet Holders: For your stand its good to get some holders for your business cards or leaflets you might produce
  • Paper Bags: Buy a supply of plain bags or you can look at getting them branded. To get your logo on bags and other items you could invest in a personalised stamp or stickers made with your logo, such as Vistaprint stamp, Speedy stamps or Moo stickers. Another option is to get branded bags from a printer such as Vistaprint, Minute Man Acton
  • Tabletop Signs for the stall: To add descriptions and pricing for your products consider getting some small signs such as letterboards or blackboard and some chalk pens such as Nisbets Tabletop chalkboards, Nisbets mini signs or Mini Stand Up Chalk Board from Amazon.   • Letter Board
  • Chalkboard Stickers and labels: To add to the display. Amazon has a great selection as does Nisbets
  • Clothing and Accessory Tags: If your product would benefit from a woven tag Wundertags do a great selection
  • Display boxes: Keeping products together. There a wide variety of these sold on the high street such as Wooden Boxes and craft from The Works, plastic boxes or metal Baskets
  • Tabletop Mirror: If you are selling items that the buyer might want to see themselves in consider investing in a small mirror for them to see themselves.

Saturday Market W3 is outside Morrisons which is close to the crossroads of High Street and Crown Street, in Acton, London.

Local Parking

On Saturday, on street parking is unrestricted so hopefully you can find a space on the street, if you prefer to keep your vehicle in a car park, both the Oaks and Morrisons are good options. Please make sure you keep your tickets up to date as Morrisons have cameras that record when you come in and exit and Oaks will have a similar monitoring in place

Oaks Acton – closest carpark

The Oaks car park offers 90 minutes free stay for customers whilst shopping on site. After this time, parking tariffs apply and you will need to buy a ticket. The car park offers electric charging points for cars. Morrisons Parking Tariffs

Morrisons has free parking for first 2 hours and you can pay to stay all day. Please ensure you do as there is cameras monitoring parking and you will automatically get a fine if you do not pay for parking. Space is available from 8am – 11pm.
