Acton Electrical Repair Party on 11 January

This January we are teaming up with ReActon and Ealing Council to bring you an Acton Electrical Repair Party in Acton. Booking essential. The event is alongside of the Acton Reduce and Recycle hub on Saturday 11th January 2024 at St Marys Acton Church on The Mount, High Street, Acton, W3 9NW.

Repair with the fixing factory

The Restart project will be on site at St Mary’s Church with 45 min appointment slots to help you fix your small electricals. The appointments are by pre booking only, 1 item per appointment.

Electrical Repair

Bring along to Acton Electrical Repair Party for repair the following (electrical only):

  • Small Household Electrical Appliances that you can carry including kettle, toaster, blender, alarm clock, lamp, small portable vacuum cleaners or hairdryer
  • IT and other Home Equipment such as games console controls, remote controls, keyboard, laptop, speaker or radio

Please note the fixers will not repair:

  • Phones/tablets as they don’t have the specialist equipment needed. Plus there are many great repair businesses already doing this. Look at these recommended repairers https://londonrepairs.org/
  • Laptop screens if no replacement has been brought to the event
  • Large battery packs, for example e-bikes, scooters, hoverboards – they hold a large fire risk.
  • Microwaves as they are extremely high voltage and could have potentially carcinogenic insulation (beryllium).
  • Power tools or high-wattage electricals.

Activities at Reduce and Recycle Hub

At our January Reduce and Recycle hub on Saturday 11 January at St Marys Acton we have a variety of organisations, helping to reduce our waste. These organisations will help you recycle, as well as repair and reuse at Acton Market and beyond, where you can:

  • Reduce
  • Repair
  • Reuse
  • Recycle

For full details of all the activities see January Reduce and Recycle Hub & Repair Party.

Are you part of an organisation, community group or as a trader interested in getting a stall? Or you can offer some time as a volunteer to help run some of the activities, please email our Reduce and Recycle hub manager, Mary Horesh at mary.horesh@actionwestlondon.org.uk.
